About ACT
Our ultimate aim is to reach Net Zero emissions across the AITO family.
AITO Climate Crisis Think Tank (ACT), an in-house members and business affiliates forum, is responsible for addressing the Association’s response to the present CO2 emissions & climate crisis.
Following AITO’s Climate Crisis Declaration Statement, ACT is working on the Association’s evolving Action Plan to assist in the increase of reductions in our own, our members’ and our suppliers’ total carbon emissions.
In the process of acknowledging that the global travel & tourism industry, whose transport-related discharges are expected to account for 5.3% of all man-made CO2 emissions by 2030, ACT endeavours to adhere to the following Mission Statement:
Mindful of the global climate emergency the AITO Climate-Crisis Think-Tank (ACT) seeks to promote meaningful and sustainable travel in collaboration with key stakeholders, including AITO members and business partners, the wider travel industry, regulators and government. By engaging with the core topics of aviation, over tourism, consumer travel practices, industry sustainability, carbon emissions and greenhouse gases, the ACT seeks to contribute to the essential decrease in global warming, whilst continuing to promote the benefits of meaningful travel.
